What Is a Bursitis Consultation?

A bursitis consultation helps determine the cause of joint pain and inflammation, such as repetitive motion, injury, or underlying medical conditions. Providers develop a care plan to manage pain, reduce inflammation, and prevent flare-ups.

What We Review During Your Consultation:
  • Joint pain location, severity, and duration
  • Swelling, redness, or warmth at the joint
  • Activity level and potential repetitive strain
  • Imaging or lab tests if needed
  • Treatment options including medications, rest, or therapy recommendations

Why Early Evaluation Matters

In-home evaluation allows prompt assessment to prevent worsening inflammation and joint damage. UrgentCare2Go® helps patients:

  • Identify affected joints and inflammation severity
  • Recommend diagnostic testing if needed
  • Provide guidance on pain management and activity modifications
  • Develop a personalized care and prevention plan

Create a Clean and Comfortable Environment:

  • Ensure the area for your UrgentCare2Go service is clean and has sufficient space for our equipment and staff to move around comfortably

What are the symptoms?

Symptoms include joint pain, swelling, warmth, redness, and discomfort with movement or pressure.

When should I seek care?

Seek evaluation if pain is persistent, swelling is severe, there is redness or warmth, or if mobility is limited.

Can bursitis be treated at home?

Mild cases may improve with rest, ice, and over-the-counter medications, but professional evaluation ensures proper diagnosis and treatment.

What treatment options are available?

Treatments include rest, ice, anti-inflammatory medications, physical therapy, corticosteroid injections, or drainage in severe cases.

Can mobile urgent care help with bursitis?

Yes, UrgentCare2Go providers can assess the joint, recommend immediate measures, and advise follow-up care.

Is imaging necessary?

Sometimes, X-rays or ultrasound are recommended to rule out fractures or confirm inflammation in the joint.

How long does recovery take?

Recovery depends on severity but often ranges from a few days to several weeks with proper care and activity modifications.

Can bursitis recur?

Yes, it can recur if repetitive activities continue without proper joint protection or ergonomic adjustments.

Does insurance cover bursitis evaluation?
